Reduce, reuse, recycle – Vale of Glamorgan council adopts the Zipporah recycling solution.

As part of a conscientious attempt to assist councils with the challenges they faced during the pandemic, Zipporah offered the free use of its software to all local authorities to use in any service area that would benefit from its online functionality. Vale of Glamorgan County Council was one of the first to adopt the use of the free solution and use it to enable online bookings for its recycling centres.

The use of the Zipporah free system was such a success with staff and the public users alike, the council decided they needed to maintain its use and even approach Zipporah to enhance the solution creating a system that was aimed specifically for use within this councils service area.

The subsequent developments saw the creation of the Zipporah Recycling Centre booking and management module. With input from Vale of Glamorgan council, the system now includes functions relevant to recycling centres such as the ability to set how many bookings for a vehicle or resident are allowable per day, week, month or year and even allows permit payments to be taken via an integration to the council’s payment engine.

Zipporah is delighted with the positive reviews from citizens and council staff.

“Vale of Glamorgan County Council has been a Zipporah client for many years and a client whose vision we at Zipporah embrace and we strive to work with them to realise their vision. It’s forward-thinking clients like the Vale that allow Zipporah to maintain a system roadmap full of functional and technical developments that evolve our product set and create the market-leading transformational software we have today.”
Scott Burton, Technical Director.
